The DFD Clown Team was organized in 1947 by Firefighter Larry Scarpace with seven firefighters to perform for the annual field day. 70 some years later DFD clowns still perform to the delight of children of all ages. Appearances at childrens hospitals, burn camps, and parades are just a part of a clowns life. All clowns originate their own acts and costumes. they build props and maintain a fleet of mini-bikes and the famous clown truck.
