A 1937 Seagrave Safety Sedan has become the symbol of our fraternal organization.
In an effort to preserve the historical heritage of firefighting and to give fallen firefighters a fitting tribute, the Detroit Firemen’s Fund has restored E-13 for use as a caisson. Traditionally, firefighters who die in the line of duty are carried to their final resting place on a fire pumper.
Memorial Rig News:
Every Saturday, we (a dedication volunteer group of active, retired and civilians) move forward on finishing this project. At this time, our group meets in Plymouth at 44099 Plymouth Oaks Blvd., Suite 112, at 9:00am, enter from rear, usually working about 4 to 6 hours. Anyone is invited to join us in our future endeavors, which will include everything from writing up By-laws to transporting the rig in case of need. If you need more information, contact Tom Suchora or Arn Nowicki in the Fund Office at 313-961-2988.
A Diamond in the rough.
